Jharkhand’s special dhuska

Nothing brings people together like a good food, then why not to try the famous recipes of different states. Let’s have the taste of Jharkhand today by making a traditional recipie dhuska.

Dhuska is a traditional recipe and famous Street food from Jharkhand. It is a festive recipe which is very easy to make. This recipe is Traditionally made with rice and lentil batter.

Ingredients:

.2 cup soaked rice (any variety)

.1/4 cup soaked urad dal skinned/ dhuli urad dal

.3/4 cup soaked split chickpea/chana Dal

.1 teaspoon turmeric powder/haldi

.1 teaspoon cumin seed/jeera

.3 green chilli finely chopped

.1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves

.1 teaspoon grated ginger

.1/4 teaspoon of asafoetida/hing

.oil

.salt as per taste

Method for making dhuska:

Step 1: take the soaked rice, urad dal, chana Dal and grind it to make a fine and smooth batter.if require add some water for grinding.

Step 2: in a bowl add both the batter. Now add grated ginger, chopped green chilli, chopped coriander,cumin seed,hing, turmeric powder and salt.add required quantity of water for running consistency (see the video for reference). whisk the batter in circular motion for 5 minutes.

Step 3: heat oil in a pan.once hot enough pour the dhuska batter into the oil with the help of a laddle. Now fry the both side by flipping it untill golden brown.

This recipe is ready to enjoy. it’s traditionally serve with potato tomato curry or green chutney.
